The Skeleton King is the next Monster of Feyland!
about 6 years ago – Tue, Mar 20, 2018 at 08:21:41 AM

The people have spoken! The Skeleton King will be the next monster in the collection. Now we'll have a one-day Twitter poll https://twitter.com/cawoodpublish

You can decide between two general Skeleton King types:

1) a large undead warrior/mage. A high CR monster with a deadly greatsword, numerous spells, and the ability to summon different types of skeletons

2) a medium-sized fey humanoid with a ton of unusual abilities and spells. This scheming, charming fellow is more unpredictable than the warrior version.

After this poll we'll have Travis Hanson illustrate him and we'll finish off the stat block. We'll ask for more feedback for a second monster in the next week or so.

Reached our first 100 backers!
about 6 years ago – Sun, Mar 18, 2018 at 09:37:31 PM

Exciting day having reached our first 100 backers! 35% of the way after five days. Thanks everyone.

Updates:

1) Follow us on Twitter and take part in a poll to choose the next monster: https://twitter.com/cawoodpublish At the moment, the Skeleton King has a small lead over an arch fey. One day left! Once we have a winner, we'll finish the stat block and background and get Travis to illustrate it. We'll have a second round during the Kickstarter for another monster.

2) The Kickstarter is going to get an article or a mention in an article on EN World this week. This should help bring in more people.

3) We will be doing a live chat with the guys from Nerdarchy in early April about the project.

4) WebDM has also said they'll give us a shout out on their podcast.

Keep spreading the word

30% the way! Starting a poll for the next monster!
about 6 years ago – Fri, Mar 16, 2018 at 08:27:30 AM

Hello everyone, We're almost a third of the way after two and a half days!

If you follow us on Twitter, https://twitter.com/cawoodpublish, you'll find a poll to choose the next of the monsters. There are four choices (the maximum allowed on the polls):

1) An arch fey (Powerful creature, very high CR, multiple abilities, evil)

2) A fey dragon (NOT the little one. Breath weapon of course but some unusual abilities for a dragon as well, twists its way through misty forests, evil)

3) A fey giant (Powerful, magical giant with strange powers, clever, evil)

4) The Skeleton King (Think of a warrior/wizard with a connection to the undead, evil)

Travis Hanson will illustrate the new monster and we'll do up a stat block and background info. We'll have a second poll for another monster during the Kickstarter. We have hundreds of the creatures at different stages, time to bring two more to life!

Big First Day! Thanks to all the backers.
about 6 years ago – Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 03:45:28 PM

After one day we're about a quarter of the way there. Thanks to everyone for joining us on the journey.

Updates: We'll do polls on Twitter over the next month about the next two monsters for the collection. Travis will illustrate both and we'll have stat blocks up as well.

Looking at doing the live AMA on Kickstarter around the midway point. A chance for you to give your input on the monster creation process.

Hello everyone, Thanks for joining us on this journey to make a beautiful book filled with interesting monsters and the stunning art of Travis Hanson!

It only took 7 hours to reach 10% of our target and we've got 31 days to go!

The News:

1) We'll be previewing 2 more of the monsters over the next month. Travis will do illustrations for them and we'll give more info soon.

2) You'll also have a chance to participate in the monster creation process, for the other 90 or so creatures, during a live AMA on Kickstarter. We'll let you know when that's going to happen.
